On Communications

Here is what TU says about communications: "Effective communications are essential to increasing attendance and participation, inspiring volunteerism, and raising funds to complete our conservation work". The chapter currently has three methods by which we can communicate with you. The first is by e-mail. The President has a master e-mail list that he can use to reach members on a group or individual basis. Think of this as the way that the President can communicate directly with you. Second, we have the webpage. Think of this as the way that the Chapter communicates with you. The webpage has both general information, that remains somewhat permanent and static, and specific information that covers things that are more time specific and subject to change. For this reason, we advise that you check the website every so often to stay informed on chapter activities. Third, we have the Facebook page. Think of this as the way that you can communicate with each other, as well as us. This is dynamic, real time communication. Post and its there! Obviously all three of these methods can overlap. The President or the Chapter may choose to use any of the three, but primarily they serve as described. We are a diverse and geographically spread out group and social media is a powerful tool that is capable of connecting us in ways that no other method is capable of. For this reason we encourage everyone to join us on Facebook.
